Perry Orth is the Co-Founder and Head Coach of QB1 Athletics.  Perry Orth was raised in Jacksonville, Florida and played high school football at Ponte Vedra High School under former NFL and USFL QB Mike Loyd. Coach Mike Loyd is a two time Junior College National Champion, who has coached over a dozen NCAA Division 1 quarterbacks in his career.
Perry is a 2016 graduate of South Carolina, where he played quarterback for the Gamecocks under Head Coaches, Steve Spurrier and Will Muschamp. 
In 2013, Perry Orth was a preferred walk-on for the University of South Carolina, where he began his career sixth string on the depth chart, eventually becoming the starter during the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Through his hard work, dedication, and perseverance, he earned a full scholarship prior to the 2015 season. Perry appeared in 20  games and made 11 starts for the Gamecocks. His career stats were 2,595 passing yards with 12 touchdowns... Rushed 54 times for 125 yards and two scores... also scored a 17 yard receiving touchdown against the Florida Gators. He was voted by his teammates as a Team Captain during the 2016 season.
While at South Carolina, Perry was coached by Hall of Famer and Heisman Trophy Winner, Steve Spurrier.
Spurrier's coaching career includes 6 SEC Championships, a National Championship, and coaching the 1996 Heisman Trophy winner, Danny Wuerffel.
During Perry's Senior year at South Carolina, he played for Coach Kurt Roper (current offensive coordinator and QB coach). Kurt Roper was a record setting play caller under Coach David Cutcliffe at Duke, where he helped the Blue Devils reach a bowl game for the first time in 17 years. He also spent six seasons coaching at Ole Miss as the offensive coordinator, where he coached and mentored record-setting, All-American signal-caller Eli Manning.
Perry Orth will use the drills and techniques he received from these outstanding coaches throughout his career to help train and develop his quarterbacks as athletes and men.

  • National Semi Finalist for the Burlsworth Award for the most outstanding college football player who began his career as a walk-on. 
  • Nominee for the William V. Campbell award which is the player with the best combination of academics, community service, and on-field performance. 
  • 2016 Harold White GPA Award - 2015 Most Improved Quarterback of the Spring - 2014 Most Improved Quarterback of the Spring - 2014 Spring Big Play Award.
  • First touchdown pass was against Kentucky while completing 13-of-20 passes for 179 yards in the second half against the Wildcats.
  • Made his first career start at Georgia...scored on a four-yard quarterback keeper against the Bulldogs.
  • Threw for over 200 yards and two touchdowns against #7 LSU...and 279 yards and a touchdown against Vanderbilt with a career long  78 yard TD pass. 
  • Career-long 66 yard run at Texas A&M...Longest rush by a Gamecock QB since 1959.
  • Threw for 233 yards and 3 touchdown passes at Tennessee.
  • Threw a 38-yard TD pass and caught a 17-yard TD pass against #10 Florida.
  • Career high 367 passing yards against The Citadel, connecting on 28-of-43 and a touchdown.
  • Matched his career high with three touchdown passes and passed for over 200 yards against #1 ranked Clemson.
  • Threw for 156 yards in the second half against Vanderbilt, leading the Gamecocks to a 4th quarter comeback win.
  • Threw for 288 yards and was 26-36 (72%) against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Stephen Garcia

Like Perry Orth, Stephen Garcia played and was tutored under Coach Spurrier at the University of South Carolina from 2007-2011. Garcia is the third all-time at South Carolina in passing yards (6,753), completions (528), attempts (903) and passing touchdowns (43).
Garcia is just the third quarterback in Gamecock history with 6,000 career passing yards... is 17-13 as a starter, including a 13-3 mark at home.
2010: Earned third-team All-SEC accolades. Started all 14 games. Completed 64.2 percent of his passes, hitting on 224-of-349 attempts for 3,059 yards... His 20 TD passes tied for the second most in Carolina history in a single-season... 224 completions (5th), 349 attempts (3rd) and 3,059 yards (3rd) all ranked in the top-five single season marks at SC. Steve Spurrier called "the best game of his career" when he was 17-for-20 for 201 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Gamecocks to a 35-21 win over No. 1 Alabama. This game earned him national Offensive Player of the Week accolades by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, named the Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week, SEC Offensive Player of the Week and the ESPNU Impact Player of the Week for his performance. He also is to 2-0 as a starter vs. in-state rival Clemson.
Garcia was the first Carolina quarterback to get the nod in every contest since 2003. Earned fourth-team All-SEC. Ranked second in the SEC with 220.2 yards passing per game, and third in total offense, averaging 234.5 yards per contest. He threw for 17 touchdowns and rushed for four more. He logged four of the SEC's 14 300-yard passing games. Was just the third Gamecock quarterback to log four 300-yard passing games in a season.
He outplayed Ole Miss's Jevan Snead while completing 16-of-34 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown, upsetting the number 4 Ole Miss Rebels, despite playing most of the game with sore ribs. That same year was named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Garcia was the nation's fourth-best dual-threat quarterback, the 12th-best player in the state of Florida and a member of the Rivals 100. He was a four-star prospect by both and He was regarded as the third-best quarterback at the Elite 11 camp in the summer prior to his senior season.  

 Jess Werts

Jess Werts has served as the Marketing and Operations Manager since the Spring of 2019 and is a current student at the University of South Carolina. Jess will be graduating in the Spring of 2020 with a double major in Marketing and Management as well as a minor in Psychology. Jess is a native of Saluda County where he was a multi-sport athlete, and led his teams to record breaking seasons in Football and Baseball during his senior year. He currently resides in Cayce, SC and plans on staying in the Midlands area after graduation. Jess is friendly, proactive, and eager to help clients reach their goals on and off the field.
